This second verse is part of a well-known passage for Christian women. This is the second verse we are going to wrestle with in exploring Bible verses on kindness for moms. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. 5 It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control against such things there is no law.
It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 1 If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.
